Once settled into Emmaus Retreat Centre, the next piece of work for us as Delegates to the Congregational Gathering was, not surprisingly, to remember – remember Cork and all that happened there over eight wonderful days of pilgrimage – lest we should have the experience but miss the meaning!
The remainder of Monday, at the outset of our second week, was dedicated to receiving and reflecting on reports from the Congregational Finance Team and the Resource and Development Team. By evening, we were fully informed and well aware of the strengths, risks, challenges and opportunities for mission that are presented by the Congregation’s resources – primarily personnel and finance. We were also altogether ready for a quiet wind-down to the day.
