Following our beautifully sunny ‘day of rest’, for which we were truly grateful, we delegates to Congregational Gathering 2018 reconvened this morning.
As usual, the themes of our morning prayer flowed from the symbols last presented – from Africa and Ireland North East. This took place outdoors, where we paused to take notice of a 200-year-old beech tree stump with proliferous growth of new saplings around the base.
The day’s work may be summed up thus: first, we reflected and shared on our experience of Saturday’s conversations on Religious Life unfolding for our time, and how our work in this Gathering needs to serve that unfolding. Then we moved on to the topic of leadership, and in light of all our deliberations, we compiled our nominations for Congregational Leadership Team asking the Spirit to guide us on our way.
