Heading South across the City

The Twilight Walk, which began at the North Cathedral in Cork City, passed south along Shandon Street to the North Gate Bridge. It is at this point that the procession crossed south to the island on which Cork City centre is located. The North Gate bridge is the site of the 18th century prison and would have been known to Nano. Nano would have crossed over the river at this point on her many journeys across the city.
